STUDENT SHADES:

Student shades are replicas of old oil lamp shades. The Student shade glass sits on a ring or tri-pod holder. The size of the student shade is determined by measuring the diameter of the bottom of the glass shade or the holder the glass shade sits on. The glass shade size is usually slightly smaller than the holder. For example: If the lamp glass shade measures 9-3/4 inch and the holder measures 10-1/8 inch, we refer to it as a 10 inch student shade.
